Lucy's Corner is named for Lucy — Phil Bryan's golden retriever, who's turning 7 in 2026. Built in honor of Heather Hackett, co-founder of Paths for Heroes, whose dream was to create spaces where every veteran and their four-legged family are welcome.

The dream was indoor dog parks — safe, welcoming places where people and their dogs could come together, build connections, and find community. It was a dream built around the healing power of the bond between people and their animals. For many veterans, their pets are not just companions—they are family, sources of comfort, and sometimes the reason they keep moving forward.
