01 · The money flow

From merchant tier to mission program.

A sponsor payment is not presented as a mystery donation. It is a recorded business transaction with a clear path from purchase to platform operations, veteran outreach, and the Paths for Heroes reserve.

Step 01
Merchant tier
A business chooses the visibility and listing outcome that fits its goals.
Step 02
Stripe receipt
A successful Stripe checkout is recorded with its sponsor tier or product marker.
Step 03
Operating allocation
The current model assigns 55% to platform, 30% to outreach, and 15% to reserve.
Step 04
Mission programs
Paths for Heroes deploys the reserve toward veteran housing and food-access work.
02 · Merchant sponsorship catalog

Four ways to show up locally.

Every tier includes a business listing and a sponsor relationship. The difference is how prominently your business is seen and how much durable visibility you build.

03 · Sponsor receipts

The sponsor ledger.

These rows come from sponsor records and successful sponsor-related Stripe events. Business names, tiers, dates, and statuses stay visible; unrelated products and recurring partner revenue are kept separate.

🏷️ Separate recurring revenue

Featured partners are shown separately.

Recurring partner revenue supports the broader directory model, but it is not counted as merchant sponsorship money in the allocation below.

04 · Operating allocation

Sponsor allocations add up to 100%.

The current operating model assigns each sponsorship across platform operations, veteran outreach, and the Paths for Heroes reserve.

55%
Platform & infrastructure
Hosting, database, domain, email, storage, payment processing, and the product work that keeps the directory available.
30%
Veteran outreach
Content, SEO, community partnerships, and veteran-facing work that helps people find discounts and resource pathways.
15%
Paths for Heroes reserve
A reserve for direct mission deployment around veteran homelessness, food insecurity, and related resource access.
How this is verified: the page reads completed sponsor records and successful Stripe webhook records, then labels the latest ledger timestamp above. This is an internal reconciliation of recorded transactions, not an independent audit. The 15% line is an operating allocation held for mission deployment; it is not an individually earmarked charitable donation or a tax-deductible gift receipt.
Different model, different question. Legacy donation-overhead framing asks how much of a gift survives administration. VetPerks starts with a revenue-generating business transaction, shows the operating allocation, and keeps the mission reserve visible. Read the fuller operating-model comparison →
